With the level of cynicism and over reaction / under reaction in the world today I believe a serial killer could document his development and fascination with murder on the internet and garner no attention for it.
Might even be a good story line.
I wonder if pictures would make people take it seriously?

The Next Day
Isn't it always the next day?
I turned 53 this week and have no insight into my life. Haven't accomplished anything since I started this blog in January. Literally nothing to comment on.
O I had angina and a stent put in. I quit smoking. My office moved into a new building. My boss got in a motorcycle accident and I think I'm going to sell mine. Not because I'm scared, but because I never ride anymore. Well just to work and I haven't done that this year.
I get up and go to work, most days and then come home and try to stay awake long enough to go to bed so I can get up and go to work. Except when I try to sleep at night I can't.
I haven't been writing. I haven't worked on the house. I haven't worked on losing weight. I have quit smoking and I do play my guitar a bit. But even that I don't do enough...
Classic depression? Yeah. No goals. No desires. No needs. Just eat and sleep. Be happier if I didn't eat I guess.
Good thing no one reads this schlock.

chapter 3
Dear Diary
Today was a day of idiots. Driving too slow because there was a flake of snow in the air, tailgating because others were driving cautiously, being too dense to understand simple statements in their professed native language.... grr.
The boy (he's really 27) came over tonight. We chatted about his college plans. He's putting himself through school, but he still is a little shy about trying to get scholarships and grants. All he needed was a little direction. Hopefully he'll get some of the money that's floating around out there.
I'm tired. Going to check email and go to bed.
I still hate my job.

Live Nude Girls
Gotcha. I knew I 'd get some interest if I put that in the title.
The truth is I like nude girls (women) and definitely prefer them alive. I'd prefer them to like me for me instead of my wallet.
Truth is I don't want to talk about nude girls. I want to jump start my life. I've spent all day diddling around the house and getting nothing accomplished except I watched Star Trek for the third time, got a site counter working on this site and took the trash to the dump.
O yeah I ate and drank coffee and took a nap.
And smoked my pipe.
I did read about making a new nut for my guitar (the old one seems to bind the strings when I use the tremolo causing it to have tuning issues.). And I wrote this blog.
Didn't look at the book. I'm doing some revision editing on the opening chapters to get the storyline focused.
And I'm avoiding going to bed which means getting up to go to work in the morning... yech.,

Stage Craft
Dear Diary
This entry is precipitated by my unhappiness. I guess I'm depressed, not suicidal or climb the clock tower depressed, but sad.
I'm 52 and I'm not happy with my life.
I'm married. I have 6 kids and 4 grandkids. I have a job. I've got money in the bank and not so much debt I'm afraid we'll live on the street or be eating cat food.
I've committed no grave sins or serious crimes. I might have thought about a few but ultimately hurting other people makes me feel bad.
I suppose it has to do with what I've wanted to do with my life: Change the world. I started another blog a few years ago with the idea that my insightful commentary on the state of the world would draw a fascinated audience of true believers who would marshal together to overthrow the Bush-Cheney corporate theocracy dominating our country.
Of the five hits I got I think I was two of them.
When I was a kid I wrote stories and played guitar. Now I write stories and play guitar.
While my writing and musicianship has improved I'm not paying the bills with either of these talents. In fact I don't seem to be able to move ahead at all with them.
Once upon a time I thought I could be a leader with my organization. Leadership didn't agree. And today I thank them. I don't have the mindset needed to just drink the f$^%ing Kool-aid.
Twenty years ago I met a woman, had drinks with her and invited her back to my place where I promptly embarrassed myself by passing out. Today we're married, still in love and she's dying. I really hate that.
I suppose the absolute honesty of a diary requires me to state that I actually know why I'm depressed. The woman I love and I can't live the life we dreamed of even if I had all the money or success or fulfillment I could ever imagine.
None of it would really matter. None of it does matter.
She just called to me, wondering what I'm doing. She probably thinks I'm looking at porn or something. I can't show her this. How could I have her know just how frightened and sad I am. It would just make her feel like it's her fault for getting sick.
So, dear diary, let's just keep this between ourselves. I'd rather not burden her.
